 Animals

Thousands of pets (dogs and cats)  as well as cattle (cows and goats – tied to trees) have died when left behind by their families. Thousands still alive – wander on  beaches and in the villages  starving.

THAILAND

SOI DOG FUNDATION – PHUKET - THAILAND said: , we desperately need to buy large quantities of food. Hundreds of dogs who relied on local restaurants are now starving as all the restaurants are gone. Some of our local volunteers are either dead or injured.

Phuket Animal Welfare Society cofounder and board member Leone Cosens was killed,  apparently while trying to rescue others.  Some local Phuket Animal Welfare Society and Soi Dog volunteers are missing

Noah's Wish is working hard to learn what indeed is happening
to the animals that live in the countries that have been hit by this
week's disaster. The process is a slow one but we are
determined to find out, and to verify that the information we

Food for Life in Sri Lanka and Chennai are providing cooked vegetarian meals for the tsunami victims. Initially providing 20,000 hot vegetarian* meals per day, they plan to increase as they get more resources and travel to different affected areas. Updates of their progress can be found here at their website www.ffl.org.

*for the same money, you can feed more people with vegetarian food (upto 12 x) than you can with meat.
NOTE: much of the population in these affected countries are predominantly vegetarian

Food for Life guarantees that 100% of the donations will be given to the tsunami victims. They will also supply medical items, sleeping mats, bed sheets, etc, as needed
